The on-court video for this drill is in production. The full step-by-step is below — and our in-depth guide goes deeper still.
Pickleball doubles strategy→Point construction is giving every ball one job — pressure, reset, set-up or finish — so the errors come from the other side of the net. At this level the winners you hit matter less than the errors you force.
Every rally once you’re at the line. Pick a target — one opponent, one backhand — and send repeated pressure there. Two balls to the same place beats one clever one.
Don’t construct past the finish. If the ball sits up above the net and you’re balanced, take it — and never ask one ball to do two jobs; that is how you miss.
This is the Week 4 drill from the RacketRise Pickleball Improver Plan. Go deeper with pickleball doubles strategy, or see all drill guides.
