Padel in Scotland: Every Club Mapped 2026
By Gary, founder of RacketRise. Glasgow-based, covering padel and pickleball across Scotland and the rest of the UK.
Last Updated: April 2026.
Quick Summary
- Scotland has 50+ padel venues across 15 cities — the strongest concentrations are in Edinburgh (12), Glasgow (12), Dundee (9) and Perth (7).
- Biggest clubs: Racket Barn Glasgow (9 indoor courts), Bridge of Allan Sports Club (7), IT'S PADEL East Kilbride (5).
- Typical cost: £20–£36 per court per hour peak, ~£5–£9 per person for a four-player session.
- Coverage gap: The Scottish Borders, Dumfries & Galloway and most of the Highlands still have very thin padel coverage outside Inverness.
- New build pace: Scotland is opening dedicated padel venues faster than any other UK region outside the South East — there are clubs opening every quarter.
- Find every Scottish venue via the RacketRise Court Finder for Scotland.
The incumbent UK padel directories have long struggled with Scotland — search any of the big ones for "padel Scotland" and you often get "no results" or a tiny handful of listings despite the actual scene growing every month. This guide maps every padel venue in Scotland as of April 2026, city by city, with booking details, court counts and what's coming next.
This is written from Glasgow. I play at several of these clubs personally, and the scene here is close enough that venue operators, coaches and players all know each other — so if anything below is wrong or out of date, email me on hello@racketrise.co.uk and I'll fix it in the next quarterly refresh.

Padel in Scotland: The Current Picture
Scotland went from effectively zero padel courts in 2021 to 50+ venues across 15 cities by April 2026 — one of the fastest per-capita padel rollouts in the UK. Key milestones:
- 2022: Game4Padel opens at Edinburgh Park, the first dedicated Scottish padel facility.
- 2023: Soul Padel Braehead opens west of Glasgow with 4 indoor courts.
- 2024: Racket Barn Glasgow opens with 9 courts in Govan — still the largest dedicated Scottish venue.
- 2025: IT'S PADEL East Kilbride (5 courts) and Bridge of Allan Sports Club (7 courts) join the dedicated-venue list; David Lloyd and Virgin Active start adding padel to existing Scottish sites.
- 2026: Dedicated venues in Kelso (Border Padel Co.), Alnwick (Platform Padel, just over the border but serves Scottish Borders players), Aberdeen, Perth and Dundee fill in regional gaps.
Scotland's padel growth is driven by three distinct types of operator: dedicated padel-first operators (Racket Barn, Soul Padel, Game4Padel, IT'S PADEL), LTA-affiliated tennis clubs adding one or two courts (Edinburgh Sports Club, Craigmillar Park, Livilands, Kilmarnock Tennis Club), and leisure-centre conversions (The Peak Stirling, Bught Park Inverness, Change Centre Dundee).
Edinburgh Padel Courts
Edinburgh is tied with Glasgow for the densest padel coverage in Scotland, with 12 venues across the city.
- Game4Padel Edinburgh Park — 1 New Park Square, Edinburgh Park. 2 indoor courts. The original Scottish padel venue.
- Edinburgh Sports Club — 7 Belford Place, West End. 3 indoor courts. LTA-affiliated with full coaching pathway.
- Craigmillar Park Tennis & Padel Club — 20 Old Mill Lane. 1 indoor court added to a traditional tennis club.
- Barnton Park LTC — long-established Edinburgh tennis club, padel added recently.
- Plus six more LTA-affiliated sites, health-club conversions and small-court community facilities.
For a detailed Edinburgh-only guide including cost comparisons, coaching and Playtomic availability, see Edinburgh padel courts on the RacketRise Court Finder.
Glasgow Padel Courts
- Racket Barn Glasgow — 23 Robert Street, Govan. 9 indoor courts — the biggest padel club in Scotland.
- The Court Padel & Pickleball Club Glasgow — 147 Drakemire Drive. 4 indoor courts, dual-sport site.
- Soul Padel Braehead — Old Govan Road, Renfrew. 4 indoor courts.
- David Lloyd Glasgow Rouken Glen — 2 outdoor courts added to existing health club.
- Golf It! Padel — city-centre site at Golf It! leisure complex.
- Plus dedicated and multi-sport venues in Giffnock, East Kilbride overflow areas, and Paisley (Powerleague Paisley with 2 indoor courts).
Glasgow is where most of the Scottish padel community actually plays socially — there are active LTA Scotland Tour fixtures here most weekends, and Racket Barn and Soul Padel run regular club nights for all levels.
Dundee Padel Courts
Dundee punches above its weight with 9 listed venues — mostly a mix of LTA clubs adding courts and university / community sites:
- Forthill Squash Club — Broughty Ferry, DD5 3BL.
- Tennis Courts, Sport and Active Health (SpAH), University of Dundee — Nethergate, DD1 4HN.
- Change Centre Dundee — South Rd, DD2 4SR.
- Ardler Complex — Turnberry Ave, DD2 3TP.
- Plus five more small-court and multi-sport venues across the city.
Perth and Central Scotland
Perth has an unusually dense cluster of padel-capable venues for its population — seven in total:
- South Inch — Perth PH2 8AN.
- Civil Service Social Club, Perth
- Perth & District Ex-Servicemens Club
- Perth City Sports & Social Club
- Plus three more multi-sport venues.
Many of these are legacy racket-sport clubs adding padel to fill underused indoor space — a pattern repeating across Scottish towns where the squash and tennis scenes are older and well-established.
Aberdeen and North East Scotland
- Sport Aberdeen — Westburn Park. 2 indoor courts.
- Strikers Indoor Football — Bridge of Don, AB23 8EE. Indoor padel in what was originally an indoor football complex.
- Aberdeen Squash & Racketball Club — Cranford Rd, AB10 7ND.
- Kippie Lodge, Aberdeen Sports & Leisure Club — Milltimber, AB13 0AB.
Aberdeen's padel scene is less mature than Edinburgh/Glasgow but growing through 2025–2026 as oil-industry leisure budgets get spent on indoor sports.
Stirling Padel Courts
- Bridge of Allan Sports Club — Mine Road. 7 indoor courts — one of the biggest dedicated Scottish venues.
- The Peak — Forthside Way, FK8 1QZ. Stirling Sports Village indoor padel.
- Livilands Tennis Club — Randolph Rd, FK8 2AR.
Inverness and the Highlands
- Inverness Tennis & Squash Club — 5 Bishops Rd, IV3 5SB.
- Inverness Royal Academy Sports Centre — Culduthel Rd, IV2 6RE.
- Bught Park Pitches — Bught Rd, IV3 5SP.
The Highlands and Islands beyond Inverness currently have no listed dedicated padel venues. If you play between Inverness and the far north, the closest purpose-built facilities are 2+ hours south in Aberdeen or Perth.
Scottish Borders and Fife
- Border Padel Co. — Cliftonhill Farm, Kelso. 1 indoor court — the first dedicated Scottish Borders padel site.
- Elie Sports Club — Golf Club Lane, Elie, Fife. Indoor padel in a classic Fife sports club setting.
- Platform Padel (just over the border in Alnwick, Northumberland) — 1 indoor court at Alnwick Station. Practically accessible for players in the eastern Borders.
Ayrshire and South West
- Kilmarnock Tennis Club (East Ayrshire) — padel added to an established tennis club.
- West of Scotland Padel Club (North Ayrshire) — indoor dedicated site.
- IT'S PADEL East Kilbride — 7 Stroud Road. 5 indoor courts.
Dumfries & Galloway still has no listed dedicated padel venues as of April 2026 — the biggest coverage gap in Scotland outside the far north.
Costs and Booking
- Peak court hire: £20–£36/hour (£5–£9 per person for four players)
- Off-peak: £16–£24/hour at most venues
- Racket rental: £3–£5 per session — most Scottish venues rent beginner frames
- Booking platforms: Playtomic dominates (Game4Padel sites, Soul Padel, IT'S PADEL, Racket Barn). ClubSpark covers LTA-affiliated tennis clubs adding padel. The rest use direct booking via their own sites.
Expect to pay slightly less than London, roughly on par with Manchester, Bristol or Birmingham.
Padel Scotland — Coaching and Competition
LTA Scotland runs the official competition structure — the LTA Scottish Padel Tour fixtures are concentrated at Racket Barn Glasgow, Game4Padel Edinburgh Park and Soul Padel Braehead. Scottish players also feature in the wider LTA Padel British Tour.
Key Scottish coaches work out of Racket Barn, IT'S PADEL, Edinburgh Sports Club and Game4Padel sites — most offer beginner-to-intermediate sessions at £15–£25/player for group clinics and £40–£60 for 1-to-1s.
What's Opening Next
Confirmed or strongly rumoured 2026–2027 Scottish padel openings:
- Multiple new Racket Barn and Soul Padel sites (pipeline not publicly confirmed by site)
- David Lloyd and Virgin Active continuing to add courts at existing Scottish clubs
- Several LTA-affiliated tennis clubs in the central belt adding 1–2 padel courts from their existing grass-court footprints
If you run or coach at a Scottish padel venue not listed above, email hello@racketrise.co.uk — the database refreshes quarterly and I'd rather over-index on Scottish clubs than miss them.
Pickleball in Scotland
Scotland also has a growing pickleball scene — see our separate guide to Pickleball in Scotland for every venue from Glasgow's Racket Barn to Pickleball Scotland's East Kilbride home sessions.
