Both paddles in the pack are identical: standard 16 inch shape, polymer honeycomb core, fibreglass face, 13mm thickness. The polymer core is the same fundamental construction as Selkirk's premium paddles, which means a softer, more forgiving feel than Nomex-cored paddles like the Onix Z5. The fibreglass face will not generate the spin of carbon, but for beginners that is not where points are won anyway.

The 215-225g weight is on the lighter side, which helps younger players or anyone with wrist issues, and the 4 1/4 inch grip suits most UK adult hands. Build quality is honest — it is not competition-grade and the edge guard feels less robust than the £100+ paddles, but neither paddle in the pack will fail in your first season.
