- 60 or 90 minutes — standard booking slots across UK venues

Quick Answer: To hire a padel court in the UK, download Playtomic or visit your local venue's website, choose a 60 or 90-minute slot, and pay online. Court hire costs £24–£80/hr depending on location and timing, split between four players (£8–£20 per person). Bring your own racket or hire one on-site. Book 3–7 days ahead for peak slots; off-peak slots are usually available shorter notice.
How to Book a Padel Court
Playtomic (Most Common)
Playtomic is the dominant padel booking platform in the UK — used by most major venue chains (Game4Padel, Rocket Padel, Pure Padel, Padium) and many independent venues.
- Download the Playtomic app (iOS or Android) or visit playtomic.io
- Search for courts near your postcode or city
- Select a venue and a date
- Choose a 60 or 90-minute slot
- Pay by card (saved on the app)
- Receive booking confirmation with court number and access instructions
Playtomic also has a "join a game" feature where you can book as a single and be matched with other players to fill the court — useful if you don't have three friends available.
CourtBooker and Other Platforms
Some UK venues use CourtBooker or their own booking system. If a venue doesn't appear on Playtomic, try:
- Google "[venue name] padel booking"
- The venue's website directly
- Calling the venue — most have phone/walk-in as backup options
Walk-In
Some leisure centre-based venues allow walk-in booking if a court is free. However, popular dedicated padel facilities almost never have same-day availability for peak slots. Don't rely on walk-in for weekend or evening play.

What's Included in Court Hire
Standard Inclusions
- Exclusive court use for the booked duration
- Balls: many venues include a can of balls; some charge separately (£3–£6/can)
- Lighting: included in the court hire rate at all indoor venues; outdoor courts may charge extra for floodlights in evening slots (£2–£5 typically)
- Court access: combination code or key card provided at check-in
Usually Not Included (Extras)
- Racket hire: £3–£8 per racket — bring your own to avoid this cost
- Towels: most venues don't provide towels; bring your own
- Coaching: separate booking and cost
- Balls if you want your own can: available to purchase at reception
Changing Rooms
Most dedicated padel venues (Game4Padel, Padium, Pure Padel, Rocket Padel) have changing rooms and showers. Tennis clubs that have added padel may share changing facilities with the tennis courts. Leisure centres provide changing rooms as standard.
Booking Tips
Book in Advance
London evening slots fill 5–7 days ahead at popular venues. Off-peak slots in regional cities are usually available 24–48 hours ahead.
Playtomic allows booking up to 7 days in advance on most venues. Some chains allow 14 days for members.
Cancellation Policies
Most Playtomic bookings allow free cancellation up to 24–48 hours before the session. Cancellations within 24 hours typically forfeit the booking cost (or receive credit rather than a refund). Check the specific venue policy before booking.
Off-Peak Saves 30–40%
The same court can be 30–40% cheaper at 10am on a Tuesday vs 6pm on a Saturday. If your schedule is flexible, off-peak booking is the single most effective way to reduce padel costs.
Playtomic Last-Minute
Check Playtomic 2–24 hours before preferred sessions — some venues discount unsold slots close to session time. Not reliable, but worth checking.
Do You Need Four Players?
Technically no — you pay for the court, not per player. You can practise alone (self-hitting against the back glass), play 2v1, or play 2v2.
However:
- 2v1 or practice alone doesn't use the full court tactically
- Social sessions (organised by the venue) are a better option for solo players — you're matched with others and play a proper game
Playtomic's "Join a Game" feature is designed for this: you book as one player, the venue fills the court with others at the same level. Usually cheaper than hiring a full court.
What to Bring
| Item | Essential? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Padel racket | Recommended | Hire available at most venues |
| Court shoes | Yes | Avoid running shoes — lateral support needed |
| Water | Yes | At least 500ml per 60-minute session |
| Padel balls | No | Usually provided or available on-site |
| Towel | Yes | Most venues don't provide |
| Change of clothes | Optional | Useful for post-session showers at the venue |
Hiring as a Group (Corporate / Team Events)
Groups of 8+ players booking multiple courts simultaneously can usually negotiate a group rate — 10–20% discount is common. Contact the venue directly rather than booking through Playtomic for corporate bookings.
Corporate padel sessions are an increasingly popular team social and team-building activity. Most dedicated padel venues have specific corporate packages including:
- Multiple court hire
- Coaching introduction
- Equipment hire for all players
- Optional food and drink
